Substitute Application Process
 2016-2017


Thank you for your interest in working as a substitute employee with Conroe ISD!
Due to the large number of substitute applications received, it may be 6-8 weeks before you are scheduled to attend the new hire orientation.

1) Complete and submit the online substitute application.
  • Please provide a current email address, as this will be our way of contact with you.
  • You must submit a current substitute on-line application if you are applying to work as a substitute.

2) Conroe ISD will check your fingerprint status with the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Education Agency.
  • If the DPS/TEA requires you to provide fingerprints, we will email you the information.
  • The fingerprint agency charges approximately $50 for the appointment.
  • You must complete the fingerprint requirements to continue your application for employment.  

3) Once your fingerprint results are clear, you will receive an email from our office inviting you to attend a Substitute New Hire Orientation.
(approximately 6-8 weeks) 
  • Our sessions are limited to once or twice a month, so please be patient as we schedule you according to the date you are cleared for hiring.
  • At the processing/training session, you will complete the hiring paperwork and provide proof of eligibility for employment.  
  • A two-hour training session will immediately follow the hiring session.
  • The training is REQUIRED and will cover CISD policies as well as the use of the Aesop automated system to find substitute assignments.

REQUIREMENTS    


Substitute Teacher (Certified):  
Valid Texas teaching certificate
College transcript (unofficial or official) showing a minimum of 60 earned hours from an accredited school
Foreign degree requires a transcript evaluation

Substitute Teacher (Non-Certified):
College transcript (unofficial or official) showing a minimum of 60 earned hours from an accredited school
Foreign degree requires a transcript evaluation

Substitute Paraprofessional/Aide:
High School diploma or GED

Substitute RN Nurse:
College transcript (unofficial or official) showing a minimum of 60 earned hours from an accredited school
Texas RN License and CPR card
Minimum 12 months of nursing experience required

Substitute LVN Nurse:
Texas LVN License and CPR card
Minimum 12 months of nursing experience required
**Must submit your letter of interest and resume to brobertson@conroeisd.net BEFORE applying**

Child Nutrition - Cafeteria Substitutes:
High School diploma or GED
Substitutes required 8am - 2pm in local schools
$50 per 6 hr shift
